Remember when I shared a snap of my ‘protein powder doesn’t taste like a sickly artificial cocktail’ discovery a few weeks back on Insta? Just in case you’ve have more important things going on in your life than following my every post – here it is:
Ah, Nutristrength – you have well and truly nailed this one! Bravo, my friends, bravo.
This powder is 100% vegan (the combo of hemp + pea is ideal if you can’t tolerate whey), contains minimal ingredients (when it comes to ingredients lists’ – less is always more) and it also boasts a pretty impressive 21g of protein per heavenly scoop. The taste? Think a deliciously thick chocolate milkshake as opposed to a glass of unpalatable and suspiciously sweet flavours that – let’s face it – kinda make you want to gag.
So whether you’re a regular gym goer who is still in search of a decent protein shake to have at hand after a work out or like me, simply like to have a mid morning/afternoon protein boost for strength and energy – this might just be your boy…
They also have a coconut oil in their range which I have been using on regular rotation for my cooking, shaking ‘n’ baking. The flavour is quite ‘coconutty’ (ya don’t say!) in comparison to other brands I have tried – but hey, as a coconut fiend, I am definitely not complaining!
HOW I LIKE IT
My ‘go-to’ shake is very simple: 1 scoop of the roasted cocoa protein powder, 1 small ripe banana, 1 tsp of the coconut oil and filtered water. It’s so simple, very quick to make and satisfies the sweet tooth – whilst (more importantly) fuelling the body and helping to grow dem muscles!
No, I don’t have it every day because my stomach doesn’t always tolerate any form of sweetness (that’s just what you call intuitive eating) – but when I want it? Oh – it serves me good. Reaaaaaal good.
Now, as a blogger, I was lucky enough to get these sent to me by the Nutristrength team – but now I’m gonna let you all in on a (not so) little secret: You can get your hands on some of the cocoa/coconut goodness by heading to your local Wholefoods and Planet Organic store or by ordering from their websites from the comfort of your own home!
If you’ve hit the end of your protein powder and you’re in need of a fresh ‘stash’ – then why not try giving this one a go? I have to say that it’s still the best tasting vegan powder I have tried (truthfully!) and I’d love to know what you think of it, too. xx
